for lisa gayle
so i decided that i should tell this girl the truth
i told her she was an amazon
a decendant of atlantis
that she was a daughter of the gods
i told her she was an alien
landed on earth with an antennae option
(i figured she had to be an alien
because i had never seen a smile like hers
or eyes like hers
or a face like hers
i had never been kissed the way she kissed
i wanted to go to alien heaven in her arms)
we spent the evening watching old movies on tv
she asked her questions
i asked mine
when i finally left
the wee hours upon us
i kissed her alien cheek goodnight
said goodbye to her atlantis eyes
and carried her smile with me into the morning
