in the glass
he goes looking for sympathy
she tells him
to look in the dictionary
between shit and syphilis
he sees her looking out the doorway
where they used to kiss goodnight
he imagines it again in his mind
his sex becomes hard
his face crimson
he tries to say hello
casually
instead he stares
and she laughs
like some unfeeling bitch
he rips up her letters
spills ink over her phone number
he throws her dictionary in the garbage
in the bathroom
his reflection frightens him
